Patches of the 1970's and 1980's
Variations

The basic round Viking Council Patch with the various strips for the camp persisted through the late 60's until the mid 70's.  The words "Camp" and "Reservation" ultimately gave way to "Camp" in later years.  There were two main patches used with different designs honoring the Indian Heritage that were particularly obvious in the artwork on the square patch.   The loons in the background of these designs would eventually become the mainstay of the patch of the patches for future years.

The ScoutingBSA.org web site is a legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to 2002 and run by volunteers.  As the web became more important to Scouting, the council took over with paid staff.  This site is no longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting web site.    You can share your comments
